As I never had the opportunity to see the broadway show, and this movie pulled through. I went with people who had seen the show and they said it was fabulous as well. My girlfriend and I went last night, and now we`re going again this afternoon! Loved Gerard Butler.

I saw the theatre version with Michael Crawford in London (lucky me) and Anthony Warlow in Australia (even luckier), so POTO had become a musical favourite of mine, and I was looking forward to seeing the movie, albeit with some minor apprehension that it would not measure up to the theatre version, and minor curiosity as to who would have the parts. I finally saw the movie about a decade after I first saw the show in the theatre, and I was absolutely blown away from the moment that chandelier was hoisted up to a spine tingling orchestral opening. And I was not one jot disappoined, and in fact enjoyed the movie more than the theatre versi

It is wonderful movie very touching and moving about love, rejection. How Christine had to choose between the dark side and true love.
