Love it! no other words to describe. Just simply loved it.
This was an absolutely gorgeous movie in every aspect of the term. It deserves every single one of the golden globes it is nominated for. Beautiful
The movie cannot compare to the Canadian production with Colm Wilkinson (however you spell) as the phantom. Overall I liked the movie but parts of the music here and there were altered and I don`t like the alterations. Was it me or did the phantom not wear a hat in the movie? Oh well, superb movie - but some songs were oversung by too many ppl and I couldn`t make out the words even though I new all the songs by heart :)
WOW!! I was speechless when I left the theatre. The movie was absolutley wonderful & fit my high expectations of it. I am a huge fan of the music & the book & seeing it all come to life on the big screen was what I was waiting for. I believe that this is a movie for a wide range of people to go & see, as I`m a teenager & I loved it, as well as a good family movie that teaches you & touches you in some way & it`s only every so often you get the chance to go & see a musical. I have high hopes for this movie and the oscars and & I`m glad to see it`s up for a few golden globes. Overall, this is definitley one of my favourite movies (if not alre
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA IS AMAZING! THERE`S THE WORD "OSCAR" WRITTEN ALL OVER THIS FILM!!! ONE OF THE BEST OF 2004!!!
Amazing, touching, wonderful movie I have ever seen.
I am a phanatic about Andrew Lloyd Webber`s The Phantom of the Opera, and the original novel by Gaston Leroux. Having recently seen the Broadway version and studied the novel and musical, I feel that perhaps the the music was compromised. Although Gerard Butler is a very gifted actor, as shown very clearly in many scenes, singing is not his forte. The Phantom of the Opera is a musical, first and foremost, and the voice of the Phantom should have been designated to a more experienced singer. However, overall the film was phantastic and I was very pleased to see more background given to the Phantom.
While the stage production of the "Phantom" is a tough act to follow, the movie version has succeeded in other areas such as set design, costumes and visual impact. A thoroughly entertaining and extremely well done movie.
I have seen the stage show many times, I am a professional stage manager, and alot of it didn`t make sense even to me until I saw the movie. Gerard Butler was absolutely amazing, I actually left feeling sorry for the phantom, even after all the trouble he cause. Emmy Rossum was born to play this role, and well what is there to say about Patrick wilson hot! hot! hot!
Not what I thought it would be like......
