Interview: Chiwetel Ejiofor (2012)
2012 is the latest disaster film directed by Roland Emmerich. It explores the idea of a global doomsday event coinciding with the Mayan calendar, which states the world will come to an end on December 21, 2012. When a global cataclysm thrusts the world into chaos, divorced writer and father Jackson Curtis (John Cusack) uses his knowledge of the ancient prophecies to ensure that the human race is not completely wiped out.
British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor plays Adrian Helmsley, a scientific advisor to the President. He is the "conscience" in the movie and feels compelled to help as many people as he can to survive these disasters. Ejiofor spoke to Tribute's Bonnie Laufer in Jackson Hole, Wyoming about working on such an intense movie and if he could handle the responsibilities that are on his character's shoulders in real life.
