Bravo! An intense in-depth study of the "character" of Alexander is presented; albeit with the chronology of events of his career taking a secondary position (only so much territory could be covered in the three hours). The film is thoroughly absorbed in the morality and philosophical perspective of the time. Underneath it all is a passionate man`s struggle to love and grow without limit. "There are many ways to love..."

actually i thought it was an alright movie. there was enough character development and the story unfolded quite well i think. the acting was fine and the bisexuality was not an issue (although there was too much emphasis on it). Love between men was a thing of beauty back then and i don`t see that being an issue either. i think people just got pissed off because there weren`t enough battle scenes and it definitely dragged on at times. It was too hyped up. Only a couple things confused me though: 1. irish/scottish/english accents? what`s up with that? 2. germanic looking greeks? and NO the majority of greeks were definitely not blond ba

It was a great movie, with quite a unique presentation. I not only found the movie interesting, but the performances moving. The only matter that seemed to bother me, the fact that it was not historically accurate and major parts of his story were not included like the destruction of Persepolis. If you look at it from an open mind and with no expectations, it is a wonderful story to view.

Oh boy, where should I start. I went into ALEXANDER with high hopes and a belief that this movie would have Oscar callibre. Boy, was I mistaken. Alexander was just too long. By the two hour mark, I wanted Alexander to die just so that the movie would end. Colin Ferrell, who usually gives a great performance, was far to weak (both in his acting ability and his character in general). His speeches would never have inspired me if I knew that I was about to die a very bloody death. Val Kilmer was pretty good. The scenes he was in were usually the most interesting. Great attempt.Listen everyone..get over this gay stuff..get real and realise that it`s there,has been for thousands of years..so..get over it!The man conquered the world.That said..it`s a movie,so of cours epeople speak with accents and might not look like what we think they should...they are actors...and..Alexander was by all contemporary reports..blonde and blue eyed..he was macedonian.So..see the movie at least and don`t let narrow minds dictate !!

FOR ANYONE COMPLAINING THAT OLIVER STONE PRESENTED ALEXANDER AS BISEXUAL: go read a history textbook or do some research before you open your mouth and whine that Oliver Stone "turned" Alexander bisexual. Alexander WAS bisexual! Oliver Stone didn`t wake up one day and said, "let`s make Alexander the Great gay" no, Alexander was bisexual, end of story. Just ask any classics professor. (and also note that Alexander was bisexual, not gay, meaning he loved women as much as men, maybe even more)

TROY was NOT better than ALEXANDER. ALEXANDER had more depth, more background, more character development, better performances, better fight scenes...ALEXANDER is ABSOLUTELY WORTH SEEING!

Nothing like I thought it was going to be, probably one of the worst movies I have seen, I would have thought that Alexander was going to top off Troy but I was very wrong Troy is a much better movie, Alexander was simply disappointing.
