Interview with Hector Elizondo and Shirley MacLaine (Valentine's Day)
Valentine's Day is the latest romantic comedy from director Garry Marshall. The film features a star-studded cast, all of whom have intertwining stories of the heart that take place over the course of one Valentine's Day.
One of these stories focuses on an older couple, Estelle (Shirley MacLaine), a happy retiree who must reveal an affair from long ago to her husband, Edgar (Hector Elizondo).
Hector is one of Marshall's favorite actors. The director calls him his good luck charm and rarely makes a movie without him. Both Hector and Shirley were thrilled to be a part of this romantic comedy, especially because it depicts the older generation in a positive light when it comes to love.
Tribute's Bonnie Laufer spoke with Hector Elizondo and Shirley MacLaine about working on the film and why Garry Marshall is a master at making these types of movies. She also found out from the outspoken MacLaine why she's more than a little angry that she and Elizondo were not included on the film's poster!
