Hugh Jackman, who plays the title mutant in Logan, reveals his goal for the movie to be different in “tone” and “character” from the previous Wolverine films. He describes his character as “more human,” “sick” and “vulnerable” as he is looking after an aging father figure in Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart). Hugh goes on to discuss Logan’s relationships with the other characters; namely, the father-son role reversal he has with Professor X and the father-daughter relationship with Laura (Dafne Keen). Finally, Hugh says his main goal for the film was to ultimately make fans happy and give them the “Wolverine movie they’ve been waiting to see.”
