Patrick Stewart, who plays ailing Professor Charles Xavier in Logan, talks about how audiences will see a “different” and “transformed” Charles – one who is no longer “controlled, intelligent, sensitive, and intellectual.” Rather, fans will see he has been replaced by a “scatterbrain, crazy, physically fragile and highly dangerous individual.” Patrick continues on to discuss how his once caring relationship with the ever-difficult Logan (Hugh Jackman) has now changed to Logan being the one to care for Charles. Patrick mentions how the goal of the film is, primarily, to entertain audiences, but also serves as a warning that will hopefully benefit greater society. Finally, Patrick talks about what it was like working with director James Mangold and the cast who were always enjoyable and open to creative input and improvisation.
