Interview with Paul Greengrass/director (Green Zone)
Oscar-nominated actor Matt Damon reunites with his Bourne director Paul Greengrass for the new action thriller Green Zone. Set in Baghdad, Damon portrays Roy Miller, a warrant officer who helps a senior CIA officer in the search for weapons of mass destruction. Miller is based on real-life Army chief warrant officer Richard (Monty) Gonzales, whose Mobile Exploitation Team was charged with finding WMDs during the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
Although it appears that Green Zone could be another Bourne movie, it also has a unique recipe that has often brought other films to their knees at the box officea plot centered around the Iraq war. Director Greengrass delivers a fast-paced, highly intense film that will have audiences glued to their seats. Having worked with Matt Damon on both of the Bourne films, the actor and director have established a relationship that delivers quality filmmaking.
Tribute's Bonnie Laufer spoke with Greengrass in New York about his faced-paced action style, and why he and Matt work so well together.
