Not being biased as I was a background actress for the baseball scenes, but you have to see it. Its a family friendly film that can warm your heart, make you cry, make you angry at how people with disabilities were treated at that time, you'll laugh. Get educated like I did watching this movie. It teaches so much about human resiliency and shows alot of heart. Mainly, Mr. Hoy needs to be placed in the Hall like he deserves. Words can't explain it, go see it yourself. You'll be glad you did!
A high-quality film that holds your interest from beginning to end! Whether you are a baseball fan, enjoy Deaf history or culture, or just want to see a good, heartwarming story, this movie will not disappoint.
Me and My Family Loved this movie! Need more like it!
Very well done. Very educational. If you are a sports nut, this is one to see. I have seen it twice and waiting for it to come out on DVD so I can own my own copy
A wonderful feel-good movie based on the true-life story of William "Dummy" Hoy.
First international showing in Stockholm, Sweden. More Deaf people will be seeing it tonite 11/23.
This feature weaves through the early life of William Hoy showing his struggles, determination, and finally his triumph in overcoming both limitations of physical and public perception. Director David Risotto paints a story which quickly has the viewer sharing in the emotions of Hoy in his never ending march to achieve his goals.Walking out of the theater you cannot help both feel a little better about life then when you walked in. A time piece production which is perfect for these times.
A Masterpiece!
Fantastic film based on the life of a true American Baseball legend. Great for the whole family. William Ellsworth "Dummy" Hoy was a true "Deaf Hero"...
This was the best movie ever! A true story based on William “Dummy” Hoy, who became the first deaf baseball hero...So inspiring to watch his life and what he lived through. He had a wonderful outlook on life. I was so inspired by this movie!
