I really liked the film. At first I thought the person who played the phantom was lacking in voice - it progressively got better through the movie. The voice is the one thing that sets him apart from Raoul - it transfixes to make you want to stay with the phantom.
beyond all expectations
Wonderful movie! Music was beautiful! Storyline was accurate. Very good version. I recommend it to everyone who loves a good musical. And buy the soundtrack because you`ll want to sing it forever.
I thought the Phantom of the Opera was well done: the costumes and camera work were exceptional. I normally don`t see movies more than once, but I had to see this one multiple times because it was enchanting.
it was simply awesome, its had me just a memorised as the the play did, as well it gave me a far greater repect for the play an all the hard work with the effects they did live. this is just an all around great moive, the acting, music sound track. but the best part was the opening when everything changed from the old run down theater to the old glory days place.
i was in awe through the entire movie...i cried more then twice, and i never cry. I`ve seen it 4 times and everyday want to see it again..awsome movie
I never go to a movie more then once, but this moving was so good and so addicting I saw it 7 times in a 4 week period. I have seen the stage show and I thought that the movie was better.
It was a very well done film. Of course, the music does not have the same power as it does during the stage show, and they had to change somethings around. Overall it was a sublime production.
The movie was awesome! They did a great job turning this book into a movie. The sets and voices were amazing! Emmy Rossum and Gerard Butler stole the show. If you haven`t seen this movie then i suggest you go see it right now.
I think this was a wonderful adaptation of the live show which I saw 4 times. I would have preferred to see a stronger singer play the role of the phantom. Gerard Butler seemed to struggle with the songs at times.
