As if possible, it is even better that the first novel, The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo. Could not put the book down and was drawn into the film unable to blink and mouth agape. Expertly directed, incredible acting. Not a person spoke in the theatre during the film, or left to get popcorn. I have read the third installment and am anxiously awaiting the film, The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. Rumour has it that Hollywood is going to attempt their own version. I wish them luck, they are certainly going to need it. Great Film, highly recommended.

Enjoyed this thriller

A very good but not great 2nd movie in the "Millennium" series. I would give it 5 stars except the cinematography is technically poor - grainy, jumpy and many scenes not exposed or lit properly - sort of like an "indie" movie. That got in the way of a otherwise fantastic 2nd installment; an intelligent persons thriller.

Lisbeth Salander is one of the most fascinating anti-heroines for our time and Noomi Rapace is the perfect fit to portray this brilliant, charasmatic but highly damaged figure. Michael Nyquist plays Mikael Blomquist with ease and likeabilty but this movie at times is anemic and lifeless. The fault lies in the lacklustre direction. Nevertheless, the narrative does hold the viewer's interest and I'm looking forward to the denouement of the final installment.
