so good i`ve already seen it twice. it`s a must-see.
A little slow at the start, but picks up very nicely about half-way through. Very solid.
I saw this movie yesterday. packed content with beautiful songs. it was really good movie, moving and touching. definitely worth 13 bucks.
People going to this movie expecting an old fashioned book musical (ie Chicago) will be disappointed/confused. The songs and music don`t comment on the action and story, they ARE the action and story, which is a whole lot more to have to take in. Because of this, I am not suprised to see many younger critics embracing the film, while several older critics seem to have written it off. I cannot comment on the adaptation process, as I have never seen RENT onstage; all I know is I was very entertained by this film. 5 stars.
It really does define our generation. Cheers to them for putting the harsh reality out there, but doing such a great job of it. Best movie of the year.
Definitely the best movie of the year!
Having just seen the Broadway production of RENT, I was somewhat skeptical about taking in the movie version. I can say that without a doubt, Chris Columbus directed a BRILLIANT movie! Don`t be surprised if members of the audience break out in song or clap at the end....ours did!
Amazingly powerful! Both my musical-hating husband and I loved it!!!! At the end we were both left wanting MUCH more!
AWFUL!! OMG, i tried to keep an open-mind but it was the most mind-numbing, ear-shattering, most boring, most pointless movie EVER!! A musical should just stay a musical...not be made into a movie. I want my $10.00 back!!
Wow, absolutely enthralling. My Mind was captivated right from the jolly get-go. Thrilling, really, absolutely dashing performance.
