Admitedly, the engagement scene was not in the original production, it is a device used to help bring the story into the 21st century....remember, the play premiered in the early 90`s and was depicting the end of the 1980`s. I think someone walking out of the engagement scene says more about the prejudices and insecurities of the person walking out than it does about the movie itself. But then, that whole topic is laid out in "La Vie Bohemme".
this film is full of contradicitons and really has no legs to stand on dramatically... still everyone finds it excellent... that goes to show you what a couple of catchy hooks, and some flashy colours can do for audiences... needless to say, i walked out at Maureen`s and Joanne`s engagement.. WAGLEY
Excellent!!
Very good acting and the song weren`t bad, but what an awful story.
It was a really done movie, but at the end of it I felt pretty lost as to what the main storyline was. I went home and downloaded the songs, and a lot of the songs I don`t even remember being in the movie! But. I plan on going to see it again.. it`s definately entertaining and worth seeing.
very very very boring .should have 1 star rating
Best movie i`ve seen in a while! Did a great job. Wanta plan a trip to New York to see on broadway, again!!
most amazing thing i have ever seen
Sensational.
ENJOYABLE!!! It`s all about youth and comtemporary issues within taboo subject-matters. I m glad a film like this has managed to see the light of day, while it has much to say about young people, and of their struggles. Chris Columbus is a great choice to bring it all out!!!!!
