Outstanding, great cinamaphotography, and supporting actress.
This movie has moved, and touched me in so many ways that I cannot put into words. Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal were EXCELLENT in portraying the two lovers struggling with their feelings for one another! Michelle Williams and Anne Hathaway also did the movie justice with their peformance in the movie. By far, I believe this is the best "love"/ "romance" movie I have ever seen! Bravo to Ang Lee and his wonderful direction for this movie, and also bravo to Annie Proulx for whom this story would not have been possible!
Jake Gyllenhaal nad heath are great actors and both have the looks i hope they both come out with a great movies in the future.
As a hetero guy who was invited to see this, but not particularly interested in the film (and to be honest I was a little nervous going in), I was blown away at how great this movie was. You actually don`t think too much on the fact that it`s two guys because you get caught up in the story. It is a truly touching story and is incredibly well acted (especially Heath Ledger - Wow). Two thumbs up!
The only thing good about this movie is the beautiful scenery. The rest is a waste of time and money. HIGHLY OVERRATED.
Very disappointed... found it too long and boring.
Excellent performance by Jake and Heath and beautiful music and nature.
I expected to feel empathy for the two leads. I didn`t. That to me, tells me the film didn`t work, the director didn`t do what he set out to do. Two thumbs down.
Though well done, this film is ultimately dull and does not bring anything new to the audience. Sure it is about a gay couple, but that really only serves the purpose of setting the relationship up as a "forbidden love". Twenty years ago the exact same film would have been made about an inter-racial couple. In this day and age, such a thing would be less "shocking", thus the update to a less "acceptable" relationship. The film is essentially a study of how the characters react to being in a forbidden relationship. By the end of the film, any empathy I might have had for the characters was gone, and I found myself disliking both the peopl
