Drew Goddard Interview
Drew Goddard is no stranger to horror – he is after all the guy who wrote the 2008 film Cloverfield. So it made sense that his directorial debut, The Cabin in the Woods, would serve as his love letter to the genre. The film revolves around five friends who are lured to a secluded cabin and manipulated by behind-the-scenes “white collars” into choosing how they’ll die.
Tribute’s Soriyya Bawa sat down with Goddard to talk about developing the film with co-writer Joss Whedon, working with the cast (humans and monsters alike) and the challenge of bringing it all to life. He also offers some insight on writing Steven Spielberg’s upcoming sci-fi movie Robopocalypse and the possibility of a Cloverfield sequel.
