In December 1996, Parisian film producer Sophie Toscan du Plantier was mysteriously murdered at her holiday home in West Cork, Ireland, with no witnesses to the crime. In the days and weeks following, the investigation became a national obsession because her murder was the first in West Cork's living history. The frenzy continued over the course of 24 years as one man was held accountable for Sophie's murder. But to everyone's surprise, that man still walks free.
