Guillermo del Toro Interview - Pacific Rim
One of the more anticipated films of the summer is Pacific Rim, the sci-fi monster movie epic by fanboy-favorite, Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth). The film tells the story of monsters invading Earth, and the giant robots humanity builds to fight back. At the center of that struggle are two unlikely pilots – played by "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam and Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi – who use a “neural bridge” to link their minds in order to co-pilot an older-model robot that could turn out to be mankind’s last hope.
Tribute.ca spoke with Guillermo in San Francisco about the huge demands required of him to make the film, what he dreams about, his love for Canada and his next project, Crimson Peak, which he will be shooting this fall in Toronto.
