When U.S. Secretary of State Charlotte Fields (Charlize Theron) launches her presidential bid, she brings on journalist Fred Flarsky (Seth Rogen) to help punch up her speeches. Flarsky, whom she babysat when he was much younger, joins her on the campaign trail and a romance begins to blossom between the unlikely pair, much to the chagrin of her Chief of Staff.
