The short and intense official announcement trailer for Dunkirk plays out to the incessant clicking of a clock, which quickens and becomes louder as the trailer escalates.
It begins on a grey day as waves crash onto the sandy shores of an unspecified beach. Shortly after, the following words appear: "At the point of crisis, at the point of annihilation, survival is victory."
Soon after, soldiers on a crowded boat are featured looking around at the sound of a descending enemy aircraft, but before devastation strikes and battle erupts, the trailer cuts to silence and abruptly ends.
