overall a very good movie for the whole family. i especially enjoyed viola davis' performance as the teacher who helps turn around the school together with a determined parent.
true story, good acting by all the actors nice to see the parents standing up for their childrens needs.
saw this on a double-bill with expendables 2 at the drive-in; what a letdown! you'd think with a title like "won't back down" you could expect lots of action, but there was little if any at all.
although the acting was great and the theme was timely and relevant, i see this more as a tv movie (or movie-of-the-week) than a theatrical film, in its style and delivery. all of the labour negotiations and such would prove too boring to make it a movie for the whole family and the lack of true drama or tragedy stop it from being a provocative film. but it's always a pleasure to see these two actresses on the screen and fighting for a good cause at that.
excellent. true to life story and very good acting by viola and holly. i highly recommend it.
it is a good movie.
the storyline is very good, a very good movie for parents or grandparents with child in schooling year.
like the story and pretty emotional at certain scene. overall a must see movie for family with young children.
i think the story base is very good; it enlighten the public about failing school system in north america in general.
stellar cast does a great job portraying the real life story of empowered parents and teachers who take education into their own hands. aside from a few cheesy hollywood movie moments, it was well done and told a relevant story. recommended!
