As a fan of the Watchmen graphic novel, going in to see the film I was attempting to set aside what I knew in order to see the adaptation seperate and be able to accurately consider it as a movie and nothing more. Unfortunately I was not able to keep my mind from relating scenes to the novel, and therefore compared it as the film went along. This had me finding faults in specific areas - which is why I do not hand it 5 stars. I found that, to start out with, this "unfilmable" piece really was unfilmable to an extent, much of the depth and meaning which is so important for the novel was missing in this big screen version of events, to some extent this was expected (when compressing an entire
Eye-popping special effects. To watch for!!!
was very entertaining with a decent amount of action.
well done special effects great
I enjoyed the movie good special effects but didn't think it needed to be 2 1/2 hours long.
the best
It was very intense with immaculate detail. Very well done!
Great Movie, It portrayed the comic well and the visuals were amazing! Some of the scenes did go unnecessarily over the top, and some of the scenes were definitely not for the faint of heart. The small changes to the story worked for me, and the acting was very good (especially by Jackie Earle Haley and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.) This movie is definitely worth seeing in theatres, but read the graphic novel to understand the story better.
I have spoken to the a comic book fan after the movie and they thought it was great. Since I have never read the book, I did not know much about the story before last night. I would rate the movie at most 5 out of 10. I found the story slow in part (trying to get all us none watchmen fans caught up to speed). I really enjoyed the fight scenes (wish they had more). I did really enjoyed the character Rorschach and the beautiful Malin Ackerman (she would be the only reason I would possible watch the movie again).
I am definitly going to buy this 0ne
