Joaquin and Reese did an amazing job together! This has Oscar award written all over it for sure. The whole story line was incredible, it was inspiring and touching. Before Johnny Cash passed away he gave permission to make the movie and he wanted nothing to be "sugar coated", the whole story was real from beginning to end. Definitely a must see movie!
LOVE IT!
Joaquin even managed to look like Cash, he was brilliant. Sounded exactly like him, too. And Reese was also excellent, I`ll be disappointed if they don`t get Oscar nominations.
Awesome movie! I`ve always loved Johnny Cash, and June Carter, and this movie just cemented that belief. This flick is going to win an oscar for sure, it`s a must.
Awesome!
I don`t want to say I hated it, but pretty close. I think the actors chosen for the parts, with the exception of Reese Witherspoon and those who played Luther and Marshell, were badly cast. for example, Mother Maybelle was a diminutive 5feet tall woman. The actress portraying her was a buxom, at least 150 pound, 5 feet, 6 inches. Not realalistic at all. Same scenario for Waylon Jennings, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash. And what was with all the closeups of the terrible skin? I have met him, been in his company and this is false. Scars yes, but blackheads and crud, no. He has recorded hundreds of songs. Noy only was the number of songs too f
Even though Phoenix and Whitherspoon put all their efforts into this biopic, I didn`t find their performances were very convincing. Phoenix just didn`t cut it for me. Also... the show might have been a little better were there more scenes of them singing and less scenes of Phoenix drooling and behaving like a sick dog.
Joaquin does a fantastic job!
I`m not much of a Cash fan but this movie was excellent. Superb acting good flow, and very good singing. (Sung by the actors by the way). Best movie since "The Notebook"- OSCAR/OSCAR! By the way one person wrote "drug problem overdone"- in reality it was probably much worse than it was portrayed in the movie.
Walk the Line covers a lot of ground: chilhood tragedy, parental relations, pill addiction and wardrobe limitations. A bit of music too. Reese Witherspoon is the real surprise. Not Legally Blond here! Phoenix does his own singing; no lip syncing like Foxx`s portrayal in Ray. No Oscar performances, but close.
