Not a great movie...although typical summer fare. I thought the dry humor banter was off set with the setting of the film in terms of time (year 1887). The dialogue was too `now` and that perhaps made the movie cheese. The special effects could`ve been A LOT better...but the only scene I admired was the "Count Dracula`s Ballroom" scene...beautifully executed.

Classic B horror movie. Crazy plot laking in plausability, wacky sidekick, stoic hero, tough girl heroine and some awesome monster battles. It`s worth admission if you are in the mood for fun and not art.

The nature of the main character, combined with the gothic settings, provided an adventure which comes across as the dark side of Indiana Jones.

I think Van Helsing had flaws, but never the less it was a good movie. I don`t think Universal wantedan Occar winner, but a cool summer hit. It was what every summmer moviegoer wants

Loved the movie. I thought that the wry humour was refreshing and the characters were extremely entertaining... Count Dracula especially. The music was epic and the action quick and intense. Excellent computer effects and the pace of the movie was perfect. The end of the movie was a bit quick though.

Well it had all the promise of being a great action yarn, it had a good hero, a good villian/s and a good setting. But on execution the film tried to hit the masses, be alot of things to a lot of people. This is where it went wrong, The animated version voiced by Jackman is in the right media for this type of content. Stephen Sommers did this movie as a tribute to the universal monsters of old. Personally Peter Cushing was a better vampire hunter in his day -See Dracula AD 1972 The whole idea of Van Helsing is a man who has knowledge of the occult and dedicates his life to the erradication of evil by brains and brawn. Notice how everyone who thought this movie was terrible, all were too technical and practical about it. Lighten up! This movie is supposed to be fun! I don`t see you losers who complain about bad movies making any better ones.

The sound effect was so great! The setting was ok. It worths every penny to see that movie!! Four stars rating!!!!!!
