This movie the Last Airbender does not even come close to mastering the original series story line. The movie lacks a significant amount of detail and intricacies that are part of the original series. There are for all intents and purposes two main characters for this movie Suko (the prince of the fire nation) and the aang the avatar. Each needs to develop properly this movie does not do that. Firstly aang emerges from the ice as a child and grows to become the avatar. Suko intent on capturing aang and restoring his honour realizes through his own character development that the fire nation has committed injustice and needs to amend not only the fire nation but the injustice that he has

Terrible movie. Great special effects in the fighting scenes, but that was it for this movie. Simply just a movie for kids.

Predictable...would never watch it again! definately a movie for younger audience, i felt like i was watching a chinese version of the never ending story...and it seems that this one will continue just the same...

I was a fan of the show and had a feeling it wouldn't be that good amongst most people, but i loved it, the only thing is that it was WAY to rushed and fast paced. the movie should of bin longer and showed more of the characters time together. The movie didn't really let us connect with the characters, they didn't let them grow, develop or show who they really were. They didn't really allow the characters to bond and connect with each other either. the acting and script may have not bin that good but what ever it did the job. I respect M. Night Shyamalan and his work, and i even if he didn't do the best job, i still get what he was trying to do, and hopefully the possible sequels will be bet

Lets keep in mind this movie's approach and presentation based on one of the film companies behind it ... Nickelodeon. This movie is definitely aimed at a younger crowd, making it a definite family movie. The special effects are great especially in 3D. Acting could have been better. The story line is one of overcoming one's weakness and fears at a level that a young audience will understand. I would have liked if the story line of this first movie to had been a little darker since this story is likely to be a trilogy on the big screen and that then the later screenings become lighter as the final goal is reached.
