great movie!
almlost as good as the books!
i read the book, so we were armed with a little more description, but i went with someone who didn't read the book, and they enjoyed it as well. i feel they did alright in transferring the book to a movie, but there are parts that didn't come through as good as the book.
action packed movie with a refreshing theme that takes elements from ben hur, the gladiator and various science fiction movies. i haven't read the book but here that the movie does justice to the book. the movie manages to capture your attention throughout and i give it 5 stars - a must watch!
worthwhile movie that i enjoyed. superb cast, characters and story made it intense. this 1's a blu ray or dvd keeper for me.
as i had never read the books, i found the movie quite bizarre in it's premise but stayed to watch it all.
after reading the books many fans were thrilled to go see the hunger games, but even those unfamiliar whatsoever with the stories who may have been 'dragged' to go, like a few fathers i know, enjoyed the movie. the theatre was, to our relief, quiet as everyone was engrossed by the movie and we got to hear every word. fans were thrilled and non fans were happily surprised. the movie and story were enjoyed by all and now the non fans that were tagged along are going to read the triology and be ready for the next chapters in the series. the action, the story, and all the colors, are worth the big screen experience and no you dont have to know the story going in, experiencing it fresh is just as
this movie kept me entertained from beginning to end. the action, the concept and the acting was brilliant. the costumes and the cinematography added to the overall experience. rarely do movies do justice to the book and in my opinion this movie did! i can't wait for catching fire to come out next year!
it was much better than i expected
seemed rather low key. less epic than i expected. special effects didn't seem on par with most movies nowadays. decent enough.
