Finally a movie of substance and unforgettable characters. The casting was great. Very few movies are as good as the book ... this one was. Maybe even better.
WORST MOVIE EVER. NO action, no violence, and no suspense=BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING
Thanks for the paragraph tips. This movie was TERRIBLE, racist, and offensive. If you like this movie you are all of the above
Best show this year!!!!!!
the best so far this year!!!!!!!
Finally a well acted movie without "action", violence, fast paced photgraphy, ear splitting noise volume and the same old story. Those used to such mindless "entertainment" will find this boring. Those of us hopeing for a decent, well acted movie finally got a treat. A good portrayal of the relationship between whites and their "help" otherwise known as slaves. It didn't delve into the actual abuse many servants received but handled that issue delicately. The relationship between the daughter and her nanny was understandable as it depicted the real truth about who actually raised many children then. Everything a movie should be and allowed us to laugh and cry. The audience clapped!!!! How of
Great movie! A must see!
Forgot to mention the wonderful performance by Allison Janney too.
a great "moving" movie. Great cast and wonderful performances from Viola Davis ( again after Doubt), Sissy Spasek and a bunch of great new comers- very talented young actresses- Jessica Chastain (great again after Tree of Life), Bryce Howard(Ron Howard very beautiful but even more talented daughter) and Emma Stone!! What else would you wish for in a very well told meaningful story..Bravo.
Wonderful movie!
