Excellent casting! An overall enjoyable movie.
Paradoxically, although Meryl Streep gave an excellent performanace, she was seriously miscast in this role. She simply wasn`t believable to me as a real `fashionista`, modelled after Anna Wintour. The character Streep portrayed seemed more like an unfortunate victim of circumstance, who ended up where she didn`t belong. With this character twist, the story was interesting; but I would have preferred to see a different story.
it was funny
good entertainment
I liked this movie alot. The characters manage to give you a humorous lampooning look at the "cut-throat" world of fashion, and yet, keep it funny, while sending out a sreious message at the same time.I mean, you can`t top quotes like:"I`m one stomach flu away from my ideal weight!"...I mean, that`s just sick! And,while you "get it"(that it`s supposed to be a "joke"),you also see the underlying serious message;that we`ve got to wake up,and get thisextremely unrealistic
It was a simple movie, but there is a deeper meaning then what it seems, maybe I`m thinking too much
This movie made me appreciate where I work and the nice people I work with - I`m lucky....I don`t have to kiss butt to get through the day! It also reminds me to nicer to new employees - they have a hard time at the beginning....
I thought the movie is a real life portrayal of many employee/boss relationships in the work place. Its refreshing to see the determination of an individual to fulfill their goals and dreams.
Great movie!
This was a wonderful date movie (my hubby went with me). A great blend of comedy and drama. I would recomend this film to everyone that likes to have fun at the movies- definately a five star film.
