A good movie overall. It kept my interest. I found that George Clooney was very believable in his character, sometimes I find in movies that use big stars its sometimes difficult to get past who the person is playing the role and connect with them but he did a good job of making you believe his character.
I was surprised at how George Clooney, a perpetual ladies' man and free-ranging, child-free bachelor, portrayed the troubled husband and father in this film. His character, Matt King, had a triple-threat of stressors to deal with: a dying wife whom he discovered had been cheating on him; two rebellious and unhappy daughters with whom he was completely out of synch; and a looming real-estate transaction worth millions whose far-reaching ramifications would impact the many cousins in his family -- the Descendants of the title -- upon his decision to sell or not sell 25,000 acres of pristine Hawaiian wilderness to a developer.
