Pedantic and preachy. Unsubstantiated history. The gnostic material Brown suggests were ignored by the church are in fact severely antifeminist, that is why they were not included in the Jewish or Christian Bible. It would take a great deal of blind faith to agree with Brown about most of the material in his storyline.
The acting was good. Storyline and plot were lacking, but that was the same in the book too. Much too jumpy and all over the place. Lacked suspense and buildup from one clue to the next. Overall, blah.
Yes... the book was better and more detailed...but I felt the movie didn`t allow you to become involved with the characters personally. You did`nt feel close to them, therefor you didn`t really engage emotionally with the movie and their personal issues. Especially with the Audrey Tatou... I felt the most emotionally attatched to Paul Bettany (Silas). Even Ian McClellan`s character was more engaging then the two principals. signed... `my 2 cents` - cindy flynn
How could they not capture the same excitement that was there in a page-turning thriller of a book. Somehow it was all lost. Cool location shooting was the best part about it.
Too Long & boring
Of course the book was a lot better, but if you hate to read the movie tells it all in a very powerful and dramatic way.
Makes you think.
I thought they did an excellent job with the film. Not quite as good as the book but excellent still the same. The casting was perfect and the story was great.
Very good movie
Very enjoyable movie. Loved Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautoo. Also loved the soundtrack. Had no trouble understanding the story; am looking forward to buying and reading the book.
