And Jesus Healed Them All

User rating: February 1, 2023

Something definitely changed in Season 3 - many somethings - including the dialogue, the soundtrack, the mood, the cohesion of the plot, the adherence to the bible... Season 3 is a BIG MESS. I never thought I would ever say this about The Chosen. :(

For those who are saying Jesus would never refuse to heal someone... they ALL seem to be forgetting John 11, where Jesus intentionally does not heal Lazarus, even though he could have. Yes he does eventually heal him by raising him from the dead, just as Jesus in the Chosen promised Little James that he would eventually be healed. Please don’t critique a story decision that is clearly based on things Jesus has done elsewhere in the Gospels.

Season 1 and 2 were magnificent. Season 3 has gone way off track. The acting, the casting, the plot, the dialog...even the lighting seems different! Something has gone wrong here!

I have always been a fan of The Chosen it is very good and brings the bible to life in an amazing way, but season three makes me go humm. During season three episode 2 the women are talking about falling in love and marrying and how it works for jews and how gentials might be different. The gential woman says this phrase that I have heard a lot in the world lately, "love is love." Now it made my ears perk up and take a notice to the reason behind that phrase being added in. It is clearly a phrase the world has been using to excuse, gays, transexuals, etc and when I heard it in The Chosen I know it was not put there mistakenly. Why would the writers want to allign themselves with the world, now people who watch this unbelivers included will say, "see even The Chosen belives love is love." I'm not saying that The Chosen is bad or you shouldn't watch it, but I would emplore you to use desernment when you are. Are the makers of The Chosen trying to allign themselves more like the world to bring in more people? It's something to think about.

I read comments about Jesus refusing to heal and that is something Jesus would never do. But we sometimes pray for a healing of someone we love and it does not happen. We have learned that God’s plan takes precedence. This scene was teaching this. It was sad but comforting at the same time.

Jesus never refused to heal anyone in the Bible. How dare you lie and portray that Jesus gives and takes away. You have taken Job 1:21 out of context. Jesus is not speaking in this verse it’s Job saying this. Also satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full John 10:10. You have just went down a very wrong path and I will no longer be watching this and will be letting everyone know of the lie you just told. So disappointed.

With much anticipation I went with my wife to watch the Season 3 opening. The best description I can give is let down.... disappointing. Maybe my expectations were unrealistic but I kept waiting...while my wife slept on my shoulder. Also, when Jesus refused to heal the man I was confused...I don't remember him doing this anywhere in the gospels. That first episode in season 1 was gripping...episode 1 of season 3 didn't do that. Not even close!

Ignore what the naysayers say and check it out for yourself. It's a wonderful series that lets us in to knowing just who the people of the bible were and the times they lived in. I've watched just about every movie/series that dramatize the bible and this is by far the best and most compelling. I urge you to read the bible and understand that no story is going to be exactly what you think it should be unless you make one yourself. We need more shows like this today and your negative comments that don't fit your individual taste are not going to help. God bless you all.

The disciples were real people. The love of Jesus was powerful. Definitely in line with the Bible. Well done!
