Great movie! Haven't read the book, but now eager to read it! Very emotional, touching and most importantly touched up on issues like importance of family.
Excellent cinematography and a compelling story. A must see!
Terrific, but sad.
Great drama movie, after all the hardship there is always the sense of hope & enthusiasm throughout the movie.
The Book Thief is an absolutely stunning adaptation of the award-winning novel by Markus Zusak. Sophie Nelisse delivers a beautiful performance as Liesel Meminger, a young girl orphaned by her mother in pre-WWII Germany, who is taken in by a kind man and his thunderous wife. The story tugs at your heartstrings and reminds you that while the crimes that the German committed during WWII were atrocious, the hardships on the good and honest people of that country were just as terrible. Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson, as Hans and Rosa, Liesel's foster parents, are perfect examples of people who try to keep their morals intact in a near desperate situation. Liesel manages to strike up friendship
amazing movie, we enjoyed every minute of it
Heartwarming movie... great actors!
it is a good movie worth watching, but not great. the story is long and pale in the beginning, and it took an hour to wait to see Matt first showing up. The emotion change in the movie is weak though, the teen actors are so awesome!
excellent movie; totally enjoyable
I enjoyed the movie. Very engaging and heartfelt.
