artistically considered a good movie. it is not for everyone and could be boring at times.
this was a very good movie for a silent move. i guess no one ever thought that someone would make a silent movie after they started talkies. i don't know what else to say though that i thought it was good. of course i thought there were better oscar contenders than this one, but who knows who chooses these things.
i like this movie because is different. this is the first movie that entertain us without sound
imaginative, extremely well acted, pure plaisure to watch.
briliant
overrated!!!!!!
meh...
depressing film, a man's worth defined by his career and the ego that is crushed when the career, fame & fortune are gone.
i rarely watched silent films of the old era; but this 'story about that era' i enjoyed quite a bit, as there were plenty of special moments caught entirely in silence as well as plenty of interesting ironies sprinkled throughout the story. worth the see... and ultimately, at the end, with two words, and with an accent... we can understand why anyone of its era might have felt 'talkies' might not have worked for them. nicely done. nice ending.
absolutly fantastic!
