This movie is extremely offensive to anyone with children. If you have any moral compass it is a waste of time and money.
People are leaving comments based on review for a movie they didn't see! This movie is funny and absolutely suitable for children. Anyone who says otherwise needs to assess themselves as they clearly like to read too much into things.
Why does a children's movie have to focus on a show dog having to be ok with having it's privates touched. It is NOT age appropriate, and it teaches kids to let people touch their privates. I will join the BOTCOTT against this movie.
Disgusting movie. Not for kids!
The National Center on Sexual Exploitation: The movie Show Dogs sends a troubling message that grooms children for sexual abuse. It contains multiple scenes where a dog character must have its private parts inspected, in the course of which the dog is uncomfortable and wants to stop but is told to go to a ‘zen place.’ The dog is rewarded with advancing to the final round of the dog show after passing this barrier. Disturbingly, these are similar tactics child abusers use when grooming children—telling them to pretend they are somewhere else, and that they will get a reward for withstanding their discomfort.
PARENTS, Do Not take your children to "Show Dogs". It teaches children that it is OK to let a stranger touch their genitals. It teaches them to "go to their zen place" (dissociate) while experiencing being uncomfortable being fondled.
Disgusting scene
Although the movie has some humor, there is a dark undercurrent about the dog having to go through a judge touching his genitals. He is encouraged to go to his "Zen" place while this is going on. Is this appropriate as an example to kids? This seems like grooming children to put up with being touched inappropriately. This film gets a thumbs down.
I just saw the movie tonight with some friends of mine we had laughed through the movie we had liked it
It was a very touching movie and funny as well.
