It had some interesting contraptions and a strange method of knocking the characters out of the movie. Whoever said that half the movie was repeats of older Saws didn't bother to realize these clips were new footage of what was happening that we didn't see in the prequels to this one. It didn't re-use many scenes, but created footage to show Hoffman's relationship to Jigsaw. It did however leave a few loose ends that nicely set up Saw VI or more.
