started out good but then got a bit too silly.

this film had huge potential, but begins to fall apart in terms of creative story telling by about the first plot point (if there really were any). with such stunning visual effects and nicely done suspense building it is a shame that it was not complimented by stronger character builds and a nicely written script. it seemed as if director ridley scott was wavering between making an all out monster-horror flick like the original aliens and a more philosophical-sci-fi-adventure; then, in his abstinence for both, tried to make something in between stringing a loose storyline together which in a way went nowhere except to say "hey, this is where the 'aliens' aliens came from, yaaay." and leav
meh, nice-looking movie, but the plot and writing were terrible. i felt like i was watching a recent m. night shyamalan movie (and i don't mean that in a good way!). if you liked his recent attempts to "make you think", then you'd probably like this movie. but if you're like me and you just roll your eyes at movies that cheaply try to explain the origins of man (and beast), you probably won't like it either. and i'm neither an athiest nor a religious fanatic, so my comments have nothing to do with being 'offended' in some way by the plot - i was just plain bored.
excellent movie. loved the end. must see if you loved aliens.
instead of going to this movie just pull out your old version oa alien and watch it. it is a much better movie, much scarier, and the characterization is much better. there were only 3 of us in the theatre, and 1 of the guys feel asleep. if i could give it a 0 star rating i would.
rating: zero! the worst movie, i have ever seen, considering that i am 60 years old, that must be pretty bad. absolutely waste of time and money!
absorbing adaptation of mary shelley's modern prometheus.
worset movie ever
for the hardcore alien types this isn't enough but only a ‘tie over'...
