This movie was a joke, the whole croud at the screening I attended were laughing at more than half the "scary scenes." Acting was mediocore, weak plot, and pathetic idea of a movie. Let's just call it a cheap rip-off of The Ring, a movie you actually want to tell people not to see. Waste of money, you've been warned!
I enjoyed reading the obviously phony "glowing" reviews, but it's a bit sad to see a marketing department pimp a bad movie to this extent. I saw this movie on Friday night, and no one in the audience was scared, or even entertained. This is another poor excuse for a horror film.
The best movie of 2008.
The people being paid to do these reviews should at least try to sound like normal people. This is a horrible movie. It was booed at the sneak preview and I can imagine paying audiences will be even more angry with this. Avoid at all costs.
Notice all the positive reviews sound like people from the marketing department rather than real people. This is a terrible movie. It's a very poorly executed remake that's about as dumb and assanine as it gets. CGI babies aren't scary and neither is this movie. What a mess.
A Herculean fright fest that will no doubt inspire countless low-rent imitations. Filmmaking doesn't get better than this.
Put simply, ONE MISSED CALL is one great movie.
Like SAW and HOSTEL before it, ONE MISSED CALL is an instant terror classic that should spawn several chilling follow-ups for years to come. This movie is an event no serious cinephile can miss.
The first "must-see" movie of 2008! Hopefully they won't make us wait too long for the sequel!
THRILLING! 5/5!!!
