Have to say I'm very disappointed. I went to this movie not knowing what it was about because regardless, it's a Tom cruise movie. But it was fairly confusing and actually very pointless. Probably the worst tom cruise movie yet, but still not the worst thing I've seen in my life.
"the cinematography and scenes are simply breathtaking." Seriously, who writes like that? Oh ya, the studio and stake holders with money on the line. Isn't it time for real, honest movie goer reviews? Not business pushing a mediocre film as if it was the next Oscar winning film?
If you can handle seriously real plots that express real concerns about all the real threats we have foolishly allowed our maniacal elites to engineer against us, this is an action/mystery/thriller for you.
This movie had a confusing storyline, OK action (nothing spectacular like some of his movies), felt a little like Independence Day all over again near the end, and was far too long. I like Tom Cruise and also sci-fi movies, but this one fell short. The "coming back to his wife" at the end was odd, and didn't make sense. Wish I hadn't wasted the admission price.
this is science fiction at its best. loved it!
We loved this movie and we're not easily pleased, though we are partial to end of the world type movies. Tom Cruise is still a bad a$$ and all supporting actors were phenomenal. Perfectly designed and executed!
Excellent movie. Both my husband and I want to see it again and are planning to go to the Imax next time. All the people who wrote bad reviews just did not get the movie. Sit back and enjoy the ride and follow along with Jack as he learns the truth.
Great movie!
Worst Cruise movie yet
Nice effects; okay acting; illogical storyline. Along the lines of the bizarre questions raised earlier I'd add: such an incredibly advanced alien race that can track DNA from the sky and even tell when Jack was lying but they failed to notice the big black man and nuclear bomb in Jack's spacecraft nor could they simply track or disable Jack's plane on earth when he went rogue? If Jack 52 (who didn't seem to care about his wife nearby when he was busy fighting his clone) showed up to get his "wife" wouldn't all the other thousands of Jack's do the same? I won't even touch the illogical physics of the far larger shuttle booster rocket/life pod module being able to drift away from the massiv
