At first, I thought this was a nursing home movie to test memory loss in stages: then it got more interesting as my buddy and I hoped that some action would unfold in Act III. Action did erupt in Act III, but not in time to save this private detective movie from going down the linear path in Acts I and II. For a movie that had loads of talent in the cast and crew: I guess the screenwriter wanted a nap movie. Except for Act III. It turned wild. The only thing missing was mustangs running through a Hollywood backlot. It was very relaxing. The acting was professional.
I admit I'm prejudiced when it comes to Liam Neeson but I really loved this movie - Neil Jordan has created a moody atmosphere, the music is fabulous & he does a great job in the role!
action film, can't go wrong with liam.
