I was one of the lucky people who saw it at TIFF this year but I had already found out through a friend what the story was about. I was still very impressed when I saw it on September 11th at the Roy Thompson Hall. The friend who was with me that day who is somebody usually who won't see such movie went through all the gamuts of emotions as I did myself. We both gasped in shock, sobbed and even laughed during some of the few moments of comedy. Gerard Butler whom I have admired since Dracula 2000 puts all his heart and guts into this movie, portraying at times a hardened junkie with a criminal past and at other times the man who has turned his life around and who can mourn the death of so
