Not bad.....not great....but the performances by Hilary Swank, Mimmie Driver and Sam Rockwell are fantastic.
A bit slow at times, but the performances by Swank and Rockwell are amazing - the acting saves teh pitfalls of the movie.
A little long at times but Hillary Swank ... wonderful
This is a story that would be hard to believe if it wasn't true.Hillary Swank as Betty Ann who attends law school for the express purpose of freeing her wrongly convicted brother is remarkable and Sam Rockwell delivers another fine performance as the unlikeable Kenny. The great Juliette Lewis criminally robs scenes in a scenary-chewing cameo that is all too short.Incidentally ,it is not mentioned in the end credits thst Kenny died in a fall shortly after his release and that Betty Ann continues to advocate on behalf of the wrongly accused and convicted. It's sad that this fine flick failed to generate much boxoffice heat.Further, it is a dismal state of affairs that audiences favour stuff lik
Hilary Swank gives an Oscar worthy performance in this movie based on a real life event. As the sister who never gives up on her brother, she is superb, showing love, tenacity and an ability to rise above her circumstances to have her brother released. I was mesmerized by the performances of all the main characters and the movie touched me more deeply than I imagined it could. This is a movie you don't forget when you leave the theatre - these characters will live in your heart for a long time after. Bravo and well done!
