Not at all engaging. To much boring dialogue that lacked substance. The ending was a slap in the face to Catholics. And by extension Christians. Ever since the Olympics gone woke, this is no surprise for Hollywood … It’s all about feelings at the end, rather than anything morally correct, holy or righteous… Even if you consider yourself woke, you’d probably find this movie dull and boring. You might get a slight chuckle at the end though, if you despise people of faith…
Intelligent, thought-provoking, acting tour de force. Great movie-making all around. Keeps you watching regardless of religious persuasion.
No Catholic should support this trash, it's designed in every possible way to be as anti-Catholic as possible. Starve woke outfits, don't give them your money.
Great movie and captivating. Taught me a little about the process and the thought provoking end makes it worth it all.
I've seen some reviews by members of the Catholic Church that this movie is offensive. Of course each viewer will see it from a different perspective. For me , the message here is,that all people no matter what denomination should be respected and allowed to practice their faith without fear or intimidation. I am a Catholic and I believe the God I pray to everyday would want me to follow that rule. God created us all in his own likeness. NO ONE is excluded.
Ralph Fiennes at the top of his game. John Lithgow, Stanley Tucci and Isabella Rosellini all excellent. Contrast Ralph Fiennes in this masterpiece and his comedic role in "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and, of course "The English Patient" tells you all you need to know about the brilliance and range this man possesses. An Oscar is definitely warranted. I was afraid it would be another stodgy, dogmatic religious (Catholic) mind numbing POS. I was wrong. A tightly woven thriller about the behind the scenes wheeling and dealings of the Vatican trying to find a suitable replacement for the recently deceased pope. Excellent for anyone...not just the Catholics or religious followers..
At face value the plot is thin and uninteresting: the selection of a Pope. Don't let that deter you from seeing a brilliant film. The script, acting and soundtrack are superb. I expect Conclave will garner numerous Oscar nominations.
Great acting by FINNESS - however -this movie put their middle finger at the Catholic Church at the very end- woke Hollywood is sick. If U R a Catholic - I'd avoid this one.
Suspenseful, well depicted as imagined.
Acting good but Woke as f.
