ok but lost its momentum, poker scenes were to long i was getting bored.
Daniel Craig looked more like the VILLAIN in this movie...kind of reminded me of Robert Shaw who co-starred in one of the earlier Bond movies as the antagonist. I think Ian Fleming wanted the James Bond character to exude confidence, charm, flirtatious virility and smarts...not rage, brute strength, puppy love emotion and almost nil intellect. Daniel Craig and his director missed the mark in a big way. I think the Sean Connery/Clive Owen type character (and possibly the English version of Kevin Spacey/Russell Crowe) was what Ian Fleming had in mind when he created the spy, James Bond - 007.(PeterT)
Awesome movie! It was one of the best James Bond movies ever.
Absolutely fantastic! I`ve seen it 3 times already! Daniel Craig is the PERFECT James Bond. More human than some of the other Bonds. This film makes excellent use of urban freelow at the beginning too - what a chase scene!! I loved everything about this movie, and can`t wait for the next one! Bravo Daniel!!
A refreshing Bond film for the 21st century!!
Worst Bond ever...both Movie and Actor...It was so slow and I was so disappointed at the end. His wrinkles make him look older than Pierce Brosnan so I don`t know why they chose him as the "Younger, hotter James Bond"...small head+Huge muscular body=NOT attractive.
This was a great movie, not quite the spectacle of the Brosnsn movies but much more satisfying in that Bond seemed to be a real person instead of "superspy". And to the below comment about "Ian Flemming rolling over in his grave.", do some fact checking first before saying something like that. Sorry but THIS Bond is Flemming`s Bond. Casino Royale is the most faithfull adaptation of any of the books.
love it! craig was excellent as bond!
Well, the film plot was decent - but Daniel Craig is butt ugly. He is definitely no ROGER MOORE. The love scenes are unromantic - pretty boring. When Craig says his quips, he doesn`t sound as good as Moore or Brosnan. Interesting way to introduce him - hoepfully he will be able to stand out in scenes more like Connery and Moore did. At times, he appeared as minor as Timothy Dalton.
Its sad that some people don`t realize that this was "the begining" and this adventure is what shaped Bond INTO the character that we are accustomed to. I saw this late, but I was pleasantly entertained and surprised. U see why Bond became a womanizer and how he went from arrogant brute to suave. Opening chase sequence was something to behold.
