One of the best thrillers ever. I love creepy movies and this one is good at it.
another movie i walked out of scratching my head
Before going to see Black Swan I was given mixed reviews from friends whose opinions I trusted. Some reviews said this was a fantastic film while others said they walked out less than an hour in. In my experience, when I hear such opposing viewpoints on the same movie it usually means that I am going to enjoy it. This was the case with Black Swan. It is not a fast passed movie, it is not loaded with special effects, the actors are believable and there are moments of brilliance (both from the actors and the filmmakers) that make Black Swan worth the trip to the theater. I went on a weekday matinee and it was nearly sold out. The crowd was not your typical young crew but a majority plus 30. My
Not what I expected. This is one for the video store. A little disturbing....it will keep you from signing up your daughter for ballet lessons.
Excellent performances. typical Aronofsky
If you want to feel tense, hide behind your hands, and cringe every other scene, this is the one for you. There is only one evolved character here, and even then, Portman's spiral in to madness is choppy and sloppy - certainly not due to her lack of ability, rather the crappy editing job. Ryder is reduced to a caricature better suited to a Craven slasher. A well made film - no, but Portman made lemonade and her efforts should be worth an Oscar nom at the very least.
I liked this movie that it kept me always trying to guess what was real and what was all in her head. I think Natalie Portman did a amazing job and should win an award for her role.
Excellent film. Natalie Portman's depth in this movie is beyond her previous roles. Beautifully shot, the film captures the internal struggle of a dancer and the intense pressure ballerinas are in to perfect a role.
a bit confusing for average movie goer great acting.
Creepy but beautiful.
