Well done action movie that includes a great chase scene that thankfully does not include a police chase and 50 car crashes.Set in pre Columbus South america and totally done with subtitles. It is a tale one mans fight against a civilization in decline. My only concern was...What point was Mel trying to make?No significant meaning and a movie that nobody will be talking about in a few months at Oscar time. Ending of the movie is rather weak...too convenient for my tastes...
This is a great movie if the audience has an open mind to enjoy the non-typical story set-up. To the person who said this movie was racially discriminating, guess what, Mayan civilization really did have live human sacrafices, those stair temples wernt there just to look pretty, they also ate the bodies not just toss them away like in the movie. 5 Star movie for people with a strong stomach and for people who like something different
non stop over the top violence overshadows the plot
Waste of time. Very slow. Action was weak.
Absolutely Stunning... Brilliant cinemetography... true depiction of brutality and savagery... Mel Gibson at his BEST... No one could have done a better job... I loved this film!!! A MUST-SEE!!! (People who are here to comment on the movie should stick to the task, and not talk about Gibson`s racial slurs... Please, do us all a favor)
Apparently,a true piece of history is a little hard for ADHD viewers to comprehend. Don`t dispare, there are "Meds" available or better yet X BOX. In reality, history was not always pretty and can not be summed up in a 90 minute movie of the week.Gibson has captured a slice of time when a whole society was going through a horrific transition. Not unlike today, the time lacked compassion and the understanding towards others. The message delivered here will haunt you for ever. The cinemetography is breathtaking.Violent, yet not gratuitious.Well developed believeable characters.Go and be educated, not just entertained.
I think Mel Gibson has great insight into whatever he does. I felt like I was taken back in time, the realism was overwhelming. The gore detail was necessary to shock the audience into believing the scene. Now a days, we are so oblivious to the murders and killing scenes in other movies, that nothing seems to phase us. However, this one stood out just because it conveyed a possible way of life back a few centuries. The will to survive is uncanny in this movie, the supernatural events seem to lead the viewer to the conclusion. The plot was great, so were the actors, they were out of this world. Henry
A very interesting, thought provoking movie combined with lots of action. Well done.
Amazing movie, Gibson delivers once again. Portraying a civilization before a collapse (greed for power, money, etc.)a must see for the open minded thinkers
marvelous mel againnnnnnnnnnnnn
