The trailer for Tarzan, the Ape Man opens as the wild jungle call of the famous character rings out and the voice of a young woman asks, "What was that?" An older man, James (Richard Harris), then informs her that the echoing sound belongs to Tarzan.
We're quickly introduced to Tarzan (Miles O'Keeffe) and Jane (Bo Derek), who is in Africa accompanying her father James on an expedition. As tribal drums are played to complement the imagery, Tarzan and Jane are drawn to one another and it becomes clear that there's sexual chemistry between them. Just as they begin to explore their connection, James steps in and asserts himself, saying that Tarzan, "lives like an ape, kills like an ape" and that he plans to "blow a hole in this ape, stuff him and hang him on the wall."
As Jane and Tarzan bathe in a river and tempt one another, a voice over describes the film just as the trailer winds down: "The most exotic woman of our time in the most erotic adventure of all time."
