Notorious criminal Hero (Nicolas Cage) is offered his freedom if he will go on a mission to rescue the local Governor's (Bill Moseley) granddaughter Bernice (Sofia Boutella), who has been abducted. Forced to wear a bodysuit that's rigged with explosives, he reluctantly sets out to find Bernice in a grim post-apocalyptic location known as Ghostland.
