In the official trailer for Bitter Harvest, we're taken back to the period between the two World Wars. As pleasant images of a peaceful Ukrainian farming community are shown, a man's voice says, "I was born in a country where anything was possible." We're introduced to the speaker, a man named Yuri (Max Irons), and we see him ask a woman named Natalka (Samantha Barks) to marry him.
The harmonious tone is shattered as the trailer continues. Ominious music takes over and we're introduced to Stalin, who says, "Ukraine must be taught to bow to our will." His plan to starve the country is revealed and his plot to carry out genocide is brutally exposed.
Violence, passion, will and bravery are displayed throughout the remainder of the dramatic trailer.
