Docudrama of the Wonderland massacre takes on a Rashomon -type structure looking at different points of view and theories, but does it really matter? No matter the details of just how culpable John Holmes was during the events in question, there's no denying that he got people killed. But I can't shed any tears for the victims who were really bad people themselves. Who are we supposed to sympathize when watching this? With Holmes's wife and also with his young girlfriend, I guess. But it's difficult to understand why women would stick with a loser like Holmes, even with his endowment. This film continues the Hollywood trend of casting a beautiful lead actor/actress in the role of a very unattractive real life person. Overall this is rather dour and not very satisfying.
Val Kilmer is awesome!!! Every role he takes on shows another depth and level of his enormous talent. He definitely deserves an Oscar for this portrayal!!!
Incredibly intense movie, all the actors and actresses where terrific, I have read everything I can get my hands on in regards to the Wonderland Murders. The cast made the story really come to live, a very sad story told exceptionally well. I have watched the movie so many times now and I tell everyone they have to see this movie!
