Needed to be longer, & every version now ignores Thunder Child (iconic)
This film is an excellent example of sci-fi done on a tight budget. As long as you’re not expecting Tom Cruise and Spielberg-level effects you should enjoy it.
Better than fox and bbc version
I enjoyed watching this, considering it's an independently produced and managed to referenced original material of HG Wells better than most big budget film, starting from green meteor, horsell common/sandpit, cylinder, curate, artelleryman, weybridge attack, thames boat ride, sewers and finishing at primrose hill, overall loved the tripod design.
I think this film is a great example of why good movies last. This movie's take on the outstanding book The War of the Worlds is not even good-mediocre, it's just crappy. Watch the 50's film from Paramount or Pendragon Picture's War of the Worlds the True Story if you want to enjoy Martians invading Earth and treating us like ants. Reading Wells' book aloud is much more entertaining than this film. What a waste.
