The story is not grate, the movie is boring. But my family love it!!!!!!
This is another failed attempt to make a video game into a full length movie.
Terrible
(??slight spoiler) (??read number one at the very bottom if you want to know if it's appropriate for kids) the story was just poor they could have used a plot and doesn't stick to lore but instead but the story was dull (just to sum it up) now first luigi hes not really in the movie he's in the beginning and then kinda has a hero thing at the very end and instead of mario AND luigi going to save the princess its mario and peach going to save luigi (and the kingdom) it makes the story backwards I'm pretty sure it one of those "women can help themselves" type of things and as a woman, i don't think that's bad at all and i support it but you can still do that and stick to a lore and portray her as brave and strong like maybe she secretly helps mario and luigi maybe saveing their asses a few times yk what i mean lol i guess i was just expecting it to go more with the game NOW i do know this is a kids movie but if you're here to see some cool references maybe see some recognizable characters- or to take your kids who don't really care and just wanna see pretty colors on screen it's great but me and my 10yo sister thought it was kinda boring (1) (if young kids can watch it) (??light spolier) there is a part with the character lumalee which i guess could be pretty dark for young kids but basically, he mentions the sweet relief of death and how hope is a illusion (I'm not making this up he said that look it up) (1) and it was funny to me and my sister just because he's talking in the voice of a toddler which made it feel unserious but if you have sensitive kids or wanna protect them from the type of talk i wouldn't watch the movie and kinda mentions torture (nothing graphic) anyway, that's it for the review thank you for reading!
If you want a Mario film with a crapton of Easter eggs this is the movie for you but if your wanting a lore filled masterpiece yoh should still watch it just don't have your hopes for lore too high
Boring
I was apprehensive about seeing it with my son's who grew up playing M.B. I didn't want a movie that's too cartoony but I felt it was appropriate for kids to watch and entertaining for adults as well.
To much love and emotions
My family loved this movie. I have five kids from 4 yo to 12 yo and they all enjoyed it. It is full of laughs and is family safe. No need to 'screen' this one, take your kids if you can. Also, there was plenty for adults without innuendos and such. Absolutely wonderful. We have seen it three times now. Pacing is fast, but still very enjoyable.
It brought so many memories when I used to play the DS and overall the movie was GREAT!
